Branko Jelinek was born in Banská Štiavnica, Slovakia, in 1978. He studied Graphic Art and  Book Illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. In his graphic novels he focuses mainly on themes of family dysfunctions and relationships between parents and children. His core project is a loose range of comic book works with Oskar Ed, a child hero with a strange face. He lives in Prague, Czech Republic.
